What's Next After Giving Birth?

This applies to all working mothers.

I wanted to update my status the a month after I gave birth and when I returned for work. This includes updating my tax status (from M - married to M1 -married with 1 dependent) and the government statutory - PHILHEALTH, HDMF and SSS.

This is my first baby, and I had no idea as to the whats and hows of updating my record. I went to our  HR's office and asked them about. First thing that I need to do and the most important requirement for those mentioned above is to get an NSO copy of JD's birth certificate. To do this, I opted to get the NSO copy at the SM Business Center in Mall of Asia (I don't want to waste my time for long queue in NSO office located in Macapagal in Pasay, it will take more than an hour because there are lots of people getting NSO copy). At the SM Business Center - I filled out the form and handed to the cashier, she told me this "Ma'am March 21, 2012 po, wala pa po ito sa NSO, 3 months po bago makuha kasi po for manual verification pa from local registrar", because I knew it beforehand, I continued getting a copy and waited for 3 long months until I received it (para kang naghihintay ng napaka espesyal na package from abroad di ba).

Worth it naman kasi a single copy that I requested was used to update my PhilHealth, HDMF and SSS status, they just need the photocopy. but for BIR, the original and photocopy are to be submitted together with the Form 2305, afterwhich, when the BIR stamped and received the form, HR will return the original copy.

Why was I so eager to update then? The year-end was about to come, and it means there will be a tax annualization! And I wanted to get back even just a small portion of the tax collected from me, tax refund!I missed it very much, kaya I was very eager to update everything. So lucky me kasi nakahabol, earlier pa nga eh, parang mga October hehe.

And came January 2013! Tada! I had a Php8k tax refund! Woot! O di ba, from all those 30%-35% tax deduction from my salary for 12 months, yun lang ang nakuha ko. But still, I was thankful for the amount I received.

In other cases though, if you think 3 months is too long and the annualization period is getting near, you have an option. This one had been done by my friend who gave birth on September 21. Her husband took charge of updating her tax status and he thought that if he waits for an NSO copy in 3 months, he will not be able to get a refund. So what he did was, the birth certificate copy from local civil registrar where his wife gave birth was used. He personally went to the NSO office in Macapagal, and have the officers signed the birth certificate copy and dry sealed. That one was the one he used in to attach in BIR Form 2305.

Medyo tyaga tyaga lang talaga. You wanted to give the benefits your children could have kaya tiis tiis and tyaga tyaga, patience baga.

The Unusual Things I Experiened When I was Pregnant

Unlike some of the pregnant women, I never experienced pains like morning sickness (dizziness, vomiting, high blodd pressure, heart problems and the like). Below is the list of unusual thing I had when I was pregnant to JD.

  1. Growing belly (oh this is normal!)
  2. Increasing weight (and normal again haha)
  3. Moving tummy (normal!)
  4. Hemmorhoid (unfortunately, I had this)
  5. UTI
  6. I felt contraction at 17 weeks - my OB advised me to take ISOXILAN
  7. When my tummy was already big, I cant reach for my feet.
  8. I wore flat shoes ( I am more used to wearing high heels)
  9. I ate shawarma (love Turks!)
  10. I cooked at home and bring the rest as my baon in office
  11. Treated with care and specialty
  12. I never had a night shift schedule
  13. I did not drink coffee ( I was a coffee addict) soda, teas and juice drinks
  14. I lived a healthy life!
Yeah, those are the things I had in my pregnancy period. Furthermore, I was also having my MBA degree (last term) on my early term of pregnancy, so my mind was busy doing the reports, case analysis and some projects. I also took the written comprehensive exam when I was on my 37th week and case defense a month after I gave birth.

Our baby was so kind, she did not give me pain, she knew that her daddy is lightyears away and understood that he's not beside me to take care of me. I was thankful that my pregnancy period was painless, even my delivery (except the labor stage).

So mommy, mama, how was your pregnancy?

Jhaydii's Stuff!

I loved buying things for our baby. Here are some of the few picks I had, bought them with my mother last January.

This has costed me Php10k+

But not all of that will be brought to the hospital. I will make a separate post on what you will need to bring.

Enjoy!

My Feet at 35 Weeks

I am one of those lucky pregnant women who did not have swollen feet. It stayed normal. I did not feel any pain or what you called pamamanas. Below is the proof.

My Growing Belly

Not only that I love taking pictures of myself when I was pregnant, I so love taking the flesh and see how stretch my tummy was. Here are few of the photos I took.

I had a nice and smooth tummy then, I had no lines in the middle and my navel did not protrude. I only had few lines of stretch marks which became visible on my 8th month. It's very down there and you can't even see it when I held my shirt high. Maybe because I had a small tummy, nevertheless, I love it that I have few stretch marks.

Enjoy!

JD Moves at 33 Weeks

I started feeling our baby moves at 5 months (26 weeks). I took a video of it while she was dancing and kicking inside me. But I love posting the strngest she had when she was on her 33rd week. Here is the video of her acrobats..

Isn't she's active? I love seeing her move like that, I love seeing my tummy flowing like a river and I love seeing my tummy move because I know our baby is active and healthy!

Till then,

What to Expect During the Pre-Natal Check Up

Post is here

That picture is me, taken 09/24/11, on my 3rd month of pregnancy. It's less obvious then, you won;t even notice that I was pregnant. I weighed 100lbs before I got pregnant, and here, I was 106lbs. It's normal to gain weight, you eat for two, but not too much for 2, just enough you know. You don't want to be as big as a dolphin do you. Here's my pregnancy weight tracker a month before I gave birth.

    Be blessed!
